Economist, Sustainability Expert
Irén Márta is an economist and sustainability expert with significant international experience.
As Managing Director of BCSDH (Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary), her primary mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy and to promote knowledge sharing and cooperation between Hungarian business, scientific and regulatory stakeholders. She firmly believes that sustainable, responsible business conduct creates competitive advantage and is the only viable path in the long term.
In both her professional and private life, she strives to promote and support good practices as widely as possible.
She was elected Professional Ambassador of Corporate Sustainability in 2017. She is a founding member of several prominent organizations, including the Hungary Green Building Council and the Hungarian Climate Change Scientific Board. She serves on the professional juries of renowned sustainability awards. She is co-author of the book "Az igazi út mérföldkövei" (Milestones of the Real Path). She has shared her experience and knowledge at nearly 500 presentations, and gladly takes on mentoring roles as well.
