Abstract

Experiences with a sound monitoring system called SoundTalks®

Precision livestock farming (PLF) implies automated remote detection and monitoring of individuals for animal health and welfare using real-time analysis of images, sounds, tracking data, weight and body condition, and biological metrics in livestock.

There is a rising demand for meat leading to growing livestock facilities & more intensive farming.

There is an increase of public awareness regarding animal welfare and antimicrobial usage.

The lack of qualified farm personnel are making it harder for swine producers to be efficient and lead to subjective decisions on their daily operations

Usage of PLF technologies like Soundtalks, can bridge this gap and steer the decision-making process into a faster and objective way.
